What happens is the boat isn't loaded in when you aren't there. When you go back the boat loads back in but the water might be way up or way down depending on weather. The boat then pops up or falls, usually taking a small amount of damage. I don't know if they consider it a bug or not but they haven't mentioned it.

They should make structures immune to damage while terrain is being loaded

I watched those creatures that swim in water attacking my raft whilst it was just offshore and had to repair it at my little dock.

i think its normal since the boat is always in the water and the wood is getting soaked without proper maintenance anything will break

Exept it takes randomly from 10 to 5x10 damages. It can be mid life in 5 minutes.

I have this same issue it is not because of load i get damaged out in the middle of the ocean so it is a bug

In the middle of the ocean maybe it is because of the waves. Do you have the same problem on the shore ?

If it bumps into pretty much anything it'll take damage. Make sure it's not hitting the wood/dock or the floor (when waves rock it around)

To be ultra clear, i know the boat can take damages from waves. But I am speaking of a bright blue day in the center of a calm creek with nothing near the boat.

might be too shallow.

if its near a wall it can also constantly bump into it for 10 damage, my ward was going crazy because of it the other day

I also have this issue, not sure why but it only happens for me when I am playing online with my pal. As soon as I go on top of any boat, it just starts breaking. However, when my friend uses it without me, it's fine.

I hope they fix this
