I still find it worth playing, but I'm not you.

My take: just wait for full release. The early game is great but the game quickly becomes lacking in both content and balance. If the full release can keep up the early-game feel and balance for longer, then it's worth to wait.

Well pretty much nothing has changed since release so if you were bored of it then it will still bore you now. Development is extreeeeeeemely slow!

Maybe in a year they will release the next update and i'm not even joking about that

It receives regular updates, yes, but the major content updates (like the one we're waiting on) are somewhat far apart because the development team consists of.. 10? people, and it is a passion project for them.

Meaning they're taking their time with it and making sure it lives up to what they envisioned it to be.

In the mean time, there are various mods, and even modded community servers, you could play on.. which I hear are quite fun.

As for single player? If you enjoy building then it's absolutely worth playing. My only real complaint about the game is that it uses Unity.. so the game is limited by the limitations of said Engine.

Honestly I kinda wish they'd halt development after Mistlands and either port the game to another Engine with better capabilities, or go ahead and make their own (a harder task than porting, I know) to have the technical freedom to do anything they wanted.

There's an Events and Announcements forum that will answer that question for you. There you will see teasers for the next biome they are working on, but you will not find a date for when it will be ready. It will show you that they are actively working on it now, and have been working on it all this time.

Yes, if you never played I highly recommend you play with friends. Amazing game. I've played on holidays with my friend, explored a lot, built my home and now I'm waiting for the new biome and new items
