Has spawn rate changed?

Was in playing and had to leave and take a break. Just wasnt as enjoyable. Seems every 2 mins or so im fending off another wave of the forest waking up or whatever that is called. ANd every time i go out to get supplies or explore its just non stop. Every time i stop to mine a rock or cut a tree theres a shaman shooting poison up my a**. why are these things spawning so often and right next to me like this everywhere i go? Have they increased the spwn rate? Ruining the game in my opinion.

I do prefer in games when the spawn rate is less. Not because it makes the game easier but more enjoyable. Seeing creatures every 5 seconds is a bit unrealistic to me in my mind even though i know it's a game I prefer when seeing creatures a bit more oh look something is there and not just expecting something to be there all the time everywhere.

Its randomly generated.
I saw less turnips after H&H.
So its just luck of the seed.

I've had the opposite experience: raids seems rarer now than they were prior to H&H.

My guess is nothing has actually changed.

excellent point, the mechanic is there for jumping trolls!

Dig ditches around your outer walls to form a perimeter, generally 3-5 feet wide. Trolls cannot jump, (nor can any other mob in this game). The only way a monster can get past a ditch is if they can fly. Once something wanders down into your pit, you can either 1. Kill it with the bow if you want or 2. Ensure you have an "out" from the pit and once the siege ends, the mobs will simply wander out and away from your home base.

Monsters who get into the pit by the way will keep making a beeline towards you. Lure them all to one particular side of your pits and then run to the opposite side, making sure to keep distance. The troll or archers or whatever will never even damage your walls or swing their weapons if they aren't in range of the player.

I think mobs, mini-bosses (trolls) got a uptick, on the flipside, I see a lot more turnip in the swamps. Before I could search through many swamps and not find one turnip

Technically you lost two hours of play, but I get what you mean. In the context of the game, it was work.

The trolls were targeting your boars. In the last patch before H&H, 0.156.2 "AI tweaks: (Monsters should always target creatures [including player] first if they have a clear path to it and monsters should only attack low priority structures [walls, etc.] if they are trying to get to a player.)"

Ironically, if there has been an uptick in the rate of attacks, it was meant to make "work" more exciting and fun.

I had a couple of trolls (in game, not internet haha) that completely wrecked 2hrs of work yesterday after I had found and tamed two boars. I think the spawn rate got an up-tik in the last patch for the swamps. I'm seeing more spawns for sure. Not sure if I like it yet, I'm leaning towards not. I do feel the new swamp mob spawn rate is way to high. I'm sure they'll tweak things, but it's all a bit annoying at the moment.

It might just be that the spawn zones have changed and the peaceful area you originally built in is now a focal point.
