Y=28 at lowest, Y=30 at base, Y=34 at highest is what I've seen so far.

Best bet is to build up until the edges of your base can no longer raise. There will be a point where the outer edges of your ocean base will stop gaining height no matter how much stone you pour onto them. That's about the height you need to stave off ocean waves during a storm.

oh may have a work around F5 env thunderstorm then wind 45 100 ,,,stay tuned

I'm not sure.
When I built a bridge over a span of Ocean, I had to build 8m above the calm surface to keep storm waves from going over the walkway. 6m was too short.

thnx i believe after experiments that zero waves is (on this map) Y=30 so perhaps using Y=40 should be above waves (but i need water in a well so need to be below 30 also :-) )

I cannot get waves to rise above 34 meters from a sea level of 30m in a land biome.. perhaps ocean is +/- 3 meters swell from sealevel of map.. would explain 6m requirement from "Migz - DH" so im building from 34 meters with my well down to 28 meter approx.... wind intensity is only between 0 and 1 ie .07 etc Thunderstorm doesnt appear to have variables..but u can adjust wind
