I crash now when entering a world

Every time I try to start a game it doesn't go past the loading screen. A nice "not responding" message & that's about it. Great update! xD

Just to clarify: by fresh install you mean that you also deleted all mods/modfiles, if you had any? Also, did you try both DirectX & Vulkan?

Cause ya didn't fully delete MODS.

Never installed any mods for it. I've tried both Direct X & Vulkan. Same thing though, won't get past the loading screen. Oh well though, no biggie.

That's weird. You could, just to make it 100% sure, check gamefile integrity from Steam menu, if the fresh install had problems. Though, I doubt that's the case.

I verified & tried both DirectX & Vulkan again.....Still to no avail. Thanks for the advice though! @herbiehanx

That's too bad. Only thing that I can come up with, is that the update 'resets' graphics settings. For example my settings were way too high for my ancient rig after installing H&H. If the problem would be that, it would need tweaking ini files to set the settings right. But this is pure speculation, cuz the main menu should work with any settings basically.

Same. Crash on loading screen when try to load any world

Same issue, crash while loading into the world, never had any mods. Verified files, uninstalled, reinstalled. It's the update thing.

I've been very frustrated by this, but after uninstalling the game a 2nd time I went to the steam folder and had to remove some residual files. Might have been a mod but can't remember if I had installed any. I then reinstalled and voila it now WORKS! :)

I just barely got this game and installed it a few minutes ago and I am having this same issue

Just to be sure, have you updated your graphics card driver?
When was the last time you played?
Did you delete the game folder after uninstalling before the attempt to reinstall and relaunch the game?
Are you trying to play the game through a dedicated server, and if so, is that server updated?

Now having this problem on a fresh install of windows, clean install of Valheim, no mods ever used, new Nvidia drivers, Windows fully updated, all files verified for integrity, reinstalled the game over and over. I've tried all the standard and oddball troubleshooting suggestions and nothing works. So, this snippy dismissive stuff I keep seeing from people about mods is starting to piss me off. Something in this game is broken, and I say that with many, many hours in.
