Ok ty I didn't try that lol.

make sure you are standing next to the mast when you destroy the boat. this is the location where the raw materials drop and you will automatically pick them all up if you have enough inventory space.

It takes a while and it's advisable to stand on the boat by the mast as this is where the components drop when it is destroyed.

I usually use my dock for departures only. Usually try to hit the shore as fast and hard as I can for arrivals. Like to get it completed on land when possible before breaking it down.
