I have coal in it I have ore in it is there any reason why it'd start turning off after a few seconds or is this a nice game breaking glitch

Are you blocking the hole on top somehow? yea like it'll go out then go on for a minute put a single ore out....... then go out again and repeat but it takes WAAAAAAAAAY to long for a single ore
They changed how much smoke they make, and this made old smoke pipes choke it.
Also are you running any mods?

JUst watched a video about smoke particles. Think the same dynamic as for general fires applies. It has to have a large space in back to vent the smoke. That space needs to be about 4' across in game scale. Watching the video on it was pretty amazing.

I have not had problems with the black been blocked off yet. JUst watched a video about smoke particles. Think the same dynamic as for general fires applies. It has to have a large space in back to vent the smoke. That space needs to be about 4' across in game scale. Watching the video on it was pretty amazing.
My back is blocked, and the top is fully free and it runs fine.
