HELLO?

Recently came back for valheim a bit and there is like almost no new content. More than 10 mio units sold with a roadmap and promise to finish the game and its sad to see that success made the game die.

You guys act surprised that a Swedish game studio is slower than ♥♥♥♥. I'm assuming none of you ever played Division games by massive..... Huge team, equally slower than ♥♥♥♥... Individual Modders have honestly created more content by themselves than this entire 5 man team in the same period of time lol.

Price to value ratio....Yeah. Ok. The made a promise. Don't want to hear about the team size. They made a TON of money. Hire some help. They've had plenty of time to work this out. They were moving FASTER before they made all the money. It feels like abandonware at this point.

I dont care how big the team is. If you sell 10 million units you expand the team, finish the game to give back to the players and enjoy millionaire life after.

This is why I don't typically do early access. Development on new features is either extremely slow, projects change, or all sorts of issues arise. This is risk you take in early access.

*edit - Sorry what i meant to say is this: The game will progress or it will not progress. Either are acceptable outcomes.

*edit2 - And I hesitate with this edit , because it always falls of deaf ears. Do some research if you truly are passionate about this game. Or gaming in general. Also consider the percentage Steam takes, then Coffee Stain, then the government of Sweden, and of course the horse. And it's less money than you think. Still a nice chunk of change don't get me wrong. But it has very little to do with the development of the game regardless. You'd know this if you had done the aforementioned research.

Yeah, I haven't played in probably a year. I watched some recent youtube videos and I'm like...guess I'm moving on and deleting it from library.

With secrecy around gamedevelopers and publishers nowadays, its hard to give information that is 100% reliable.
But from as far as I could find, Valheim is being developed by a 5 man team.
That is a rather small team for a game, especialy for a 3d game.

Thats not to say they are still rather slow compared to other developers that I know released great games. But its a reason for the slow progress, non the less.
I dont think the game is dead quite yet, but it will take a realy long time before its released at this pace, thats for sure.

Even if the game never got any updates after launch, it would still be a feature ritch and satisfying game for it's price so I really don't think people should complain. They promised more content by the time it reaches 1.0 and they haven't shown signs of not delivering on that 1.0 at some point. You should eliminate your expectations based on live service games and try to objectively analyze the price-to-value ratio you've got with Valheim.

As vallid an argument this is, that is still something that different from person to person.
For plenty of people, a game that does not get finished within a certain time, or never gets finished is not worth playing or their money.
