There are two betas. One is open (default_old) and is simply the version from before whatever was the latest patch on the main branch. The other is password-locked (Public Test) and is for testing out options, features, and new code intended for the next upcoming main branch release.

It looks like one exists given the options. I'm not sure what is on it right now, maybe testing a fix to the stuff that broke.
