Stamina needs an overhaul soon
So I just tried my hand at the Queen, solo.
This fight is intense. Nonstop adds, nonstop boss aggresion.
I literally played through 3 entire Bonemass cooldowns, Demolisher BROKE, full stack of major health mead, same of stamina recovery mead, rest long since wore off.. didnt even get her to half. Thats over 45 minutes of fighting a boss not to get to half.
Why?
Because Stamina.
I spent more time fighting the stamina bar than fighting the boss. More time walking away than fighting. More time falling down a level to regen stamina than fighting. More time blocking/rolling in order to... walk away so I could regen stamina.
I have 100 run skill, 70+ jump, 60+ in each weapon skill that I use...and I spent the entire time plodding away... use demolisher to wipe out adds... plod away.. take out a seeker... swipe at the queen once or twice... roll through her attack, get one or two more hits in and completely wiped of stamina. Time to plod away for another 2 or 3 minutes, starting over if I had to clear more adds.
This is even post seeker-nerf, so the seekers she was spawning weren't even on me as much as they normally would have.
Im not here to complain because I had a hard time with the boss, Ill try her again with different weapons perhaps. It's good to have a challenge!
Im here because as exciting as the arena was, as cool as the encounter was, learning her movesets and how frequent the adds are... it wasnt fun at all.
Because Stamina.
The entire Mistlands release has thrown a spotlight on how god-awful the stamina system in Valheim is currently. It just sucks the fun and enjoyment out of everything. Exploration, combat, building, EVERYTHING grinds to a halt with the post-Hearth and Home stamina system. The game is arguably not worth playing if you aren't rested in its current iteration.
Can we PLEASE get some tweaks to this. Make Run and Jump skills ACTUALLY have an impact. Make the stamina regen meads ACTUALLY have an impact.
Something has got to change.
