If you just stick to basic wood and roof material in meadows, you can build with just raids from boars and necks. Once you get enough benches around your base area, the local spawns will stop once the base and benches cover enough ground.

Only thing is, it takes a lot of wood. So you really need the brass hoe to be able to plant trees to renew the forest. Otherwise you have to venture further away to cop down trees and you can get constantly harassed by those drunken walking fire fearing mini tree stumps with legs thingamabobs.

To get brass for the hoe, you have to go into the black forest where you get more harassment. What you can do is have 1 fighting character that gifts some basic things to a building only character.

One trick is to have two worlds. Build on one world, and kill bosses to get access to advanced materials on the other world. That way you'll never have difficult raids on your pristine build world where you've left the bosses alone.

In addition to the console commands, if you just want to progress and gather in easy mode, go to Nexus mods and get Valheim+. It will allow you to tweak a lot of different things like gather rates, portal restrictions, and damage given and received. Turn resources way up and turn enemy damage way down.

the game def is based around combat, way more than even minecraft. if you want zero combat, you can of course godmode and cheat, but you will still have to deal with things tearing stuff apart and such. thers no creative mode per say like minecraft where everyones a happy kitty.

Coxy, the combat is not that skill based and the game has a huge build option. Combat is fun but not that hard, the game is more about making your mark on the world... fun builds is a decent part of the game.

There are probably better building sims out there. Not that this game is bad, its just not specialized solely around building.

they already added creative mode, it called debugmode, and it's a devcommand

Fairly easy to get to full Iron armor.
At that point any attack in the first two areas are nuisances.
I play with Valhiem + with building stress levels at about 40% less.
Bridges, forts, roads, villages. Got 1200hrs in and only gone into the mountains a few times.

As a building sim this isn't the game you want unless you always want to use the devcommands god and ghost so you can't get hurt and wont argo anything.

Valhiems focus is on survival, and even cutting down a tree will agro something nearby so there is constant combat.

With luck the devs will eventually add a "creative" mode that just lets you build without dealing with constnat combat.

God mode? Other admin comands as unlimted building mats? I´d guess.
There is no "easy mode" so it´s either -cheats- or play the game

it's dependent, for endgame materials you need endgame character to easily farm them.
If you just want build you can always use console and give yourself materials.
Iron gate once wrote about adding cratvie mode, but when they do it is a mystery.

Or you can play with someone. Your friend would do the exploration and gathering rare materials part and you would build.

If you build your base in the meadows you'll be pretty safe, but you'll eventually need to venture into more deadly biomes to get better materials.

It quite possibly my favorite game of all time.

Activate debugmode, use the ghost command; all enemies will ignore you. For getting the stuff for summoning bosses, and killing them as well, use the killall command Kills all nearby enemies. (K?)
