Is there a future possibility of turning structure damage off?
This is a feature I greatly wish would come to the game.
I looooooooove the building in this game so damn much. And the way I approach it, leads to me building small little hamlets / towns. These span across a good piece of land, where no matter what I do, raids are always going to spawn inside my walls. (Having to have the walls feels like an eyesore, but I've gotten used to it).
I get that people mostly go with the advice of 'live on an island', or 'put workbenches every few meters'... but I mean cmon, what if I don't want to live on an island? And how can anyone think it looks great to have workbenches dotting the landscape?
6 different times in my session today, I had to take time out of my cozy gameplay to rebuild fallen buildings. And its not the combat that bugs me. I have zero issue with having to fight a raid when it comes. But that split second where you're in the backroom of a structure, or oops, you were comfortable and hadn't eaten anything for a few minutes and need regen, the trolls or draugr do enough to take out at least one thing.
And I even tried dotting the landscape with the workbenches, it still did nothing. Half the reason because just the little greylings wandering around in the day come in and take out a few of them.
It's just constant *stop everything you're doing and do this now*, and it sucks imo.
Most people I've seen play this are all about rushing to the endgame and just beating the bosses, but I love the inbetween. The building is really damn fun. And I love chores in games (farming, gathering, building, crafting etc). But it seems anytime I try to enjoy the game this way, the raids just end up leaving me super salty and annoyed.
Like, if I'm out in the open, and a raid triggers... its whatever. Because I can dash to them, and they focus on me. But for those other moments...
The Forest has an option in the settings to turn off structure damage. I'd love to see that option in Valheim. It's literally my only issue with the game.
Don't even get me started on the 9 times I had to go find new boars because monster AI targets creatures first -.-, but I accept that. Makes sense. And I can do work to keep them hard to reach.
/rant.

IDK but an idea suddenly hit me while reading your post.... If a workbench works to stop spawns, while it is on the ground, wouldn't it also work if you dug a small hole , put the workbench in there and covered it up with either dirt or stone blocks or floors or something? at least they wouldn't be out in the open making things look "ugly"

V+ is among other things the Creative Mode we're hoping for in the final release.

I love building too and almost everywhere i have little cabins with workbench/stonecutters in them. These cabins fit perfectly to my style and add variety because everyone i build is a little bit different.

Sounds like its a dedicated server feature. What about for the solo player's or friendlist co-op players?
