im guessing the mistlands update will require new worlds, because its adding alot of new content to an existing biome

yeah the update has been coming for about a year now, with no sign of it releasing any time soon

but as long as you dont explore mistlands areas they will generate properly when the update comes out

Honestly we do not know if it will be a "big" update, it could be as weak as Hearth & Home when people expected new building parts to find merely a handful that now use a new material.

We do know some new weapons, we do know new stone, a new forge, some food and the zone stuff but aside from that we really don't know what is going in.

We don't even know if it will be out this year, the way it has been worded it could be the last fiscal quarter of this year, which is technically next year.

Most of the updates so far have not corrupted any previously saved games (at least in my experience).

The big issue with updates is when new biomes (or new twists to existing biomes like mountain caves) are added as they will only appear in the appropriate, but still unexplored areas of existing games.

So there is really no reason to not play now if you have the itch as you can leave some areas unexplored waiting for the update or just play now and start a new world with the new biomes when they drop.

Lol big updates that was good For me, the game is one big scam! They make such mini updates every now and then to find people who still buy it....To milk the cow even more!

Around late 2022/ early 2023. It'll drop one the beta branch first, most we have.

Suggested by devs that it will at least be on test before the end of the year. I expect it may be on live by October. But i'm an optimist, so take that with a grain of salt.

There's no reason to think it won't be compatible. Your only concern is to leave mistland areas unexplored in your current world. So, don't try to uncover the whole map.
