Who cares about the mod, that's not the real answer--just a way to cheat around the vanilla game settings. Irrelevant. As for being hunted--yeah, depends on how fast you kill them. If you get to a spot they can't reach then you won't get many and the hunt will eventually end. If you stand out and fight them the whole time they will keep spawning and you'll get quite a few. It's a fun event, something that can hit anywhere (not just the mountains). Keeps you on your toes. When I first start searching for silver in the mountains I make sure I dig a significant hole when mining, one the wolves can't normally climb down. When the hunt begins it's not uncommon to have a handful pacing around the edge of the pit where I'm mining, with one that occasionally falls in and I have to kill it. All in how you plan, like everything in this game.

That sounds right, I will get sometimes around 25 meats or so. Never seen 10 wolves, always about 25 to 30 ish.

You are being hunted is the absolute worst thing that can happen. Hate that event.

But beware, in default config everything can have up to five stars, including serpents, goblins, loxes and deathsquitoes ;)

Just got hit by one. as far as I can tell it's just a random chance to instantly die.

And they're camping my body. Definitely not a game play thing but a reminder to back up saves frequently.

This mod is quite punishing. In multi you can always use one player to lure enemies from the body, but I can imagine problems in singleplayer. In multi we were able to recover bodies sooner or later.

Basically we were extremely careful, often run away, avoided unnecessary combat, fought deathsquitoes mainly with bows, etc. Real fun stars when fighting goblins and then wolves appear ;).

To be honest I would prefer something to be done to the difficulty, especially in multi, but more stars are quite poor option. I would prefer more enemies spawning with proper scaling to team size, maybe some enemies with special attacks. Just adding hp and hitting power is very crude method of increasing difficulty.

Are you still using the mod or just referring to one you used before?

If still using the mod ask the mod author about it.

If not using the mod , did you do a fresh install or maybe left traces of it behind causing your current issue.

seems normal - i had a extreme greydwarf attack once
counted 38 kills
odin has smiled on me that day
made a sword 2 days before that massive attack
gone thru them like a true berserker

I was using it before H&H. Now I would like to taste new update in vanilla settings. Besides, as mentioned above, I find adding stars a very crude method of increasing difficulty. Better than nothing, but still poor option.

I'm using Thundersotre mod manager that offers an option to run clean vanilla. So there should be no traces of old mods, since this mod manager doesn't write in original game files.

Strange, neven seen it in 2 playthroughs. There were always below 10. In second playthrough we were using mods for increased raid difficulty and stronger enemies, so we had wolves even with 4-5 stars, but always less than 10.

I've asked if it's a bug, because once I've seen similar strange thing happening to birds. Birds were flying to my location in massive numbers. I've shot over 30 in several minuts before they stopped to appear. Never seen it again. I thouth it might be the same situation.

I'm pretty sure any of those events will keep spawning more mobs as you kill them. So the faster you kill them the more you have to fight, if you jumped on top of a big rock and waited there might have been something like 6 total.
