Death on the ocean

Does the grave drop down to the ground when death on ocean? If yes, then could the devs somehow make it swim? Just so that you can get the items back. If not, then ignore this discussion.

fun fact you can go into fly/noclip mode and go under the waterfall on the edge of the map and under water and you can walk around down there

It's a bit of an exploit, but if you fall in the water just log out and dump your items into a second world.

If you can stomach the repetition you probably can because you are a Valheim player, you could just swim back by loading your character into a different world every time they get low on stamina.

You don't even have to go that far. Just log out and back on. When you log back on you have a full bar of stamina again. You lose your rested buff but you can't regain stamina while you are in water that causes you to float anyway so its not really much to give up to get your stamina bar filled up again.

To add to this a bit. If you have open inventory slots, enough carrying weight available, auto gather turned on, and you stand on the ship's mast when the serpent breaks your ship the ship parts will go into your inventory. When the serpent kills you the parts will be in your floating corpse's inventory.

This is I did not know! Granted death at sea has only happened a couple times but I shall do this next time. :)
You can do the same kind of thing with your axe. Once you sail and set up a portal, you can stand on the mast, chop the boat until it breaks, the bits go into your inventory when the boat breaks and you drop into the water. You can portal the parts back and rebuild it elsewhere.
