Onion soup its low tier in mountains ( and overvalued lol ) , just a little more stamina than turnip stew and less duration and hp regeneration
Eyescream have 25 duration and 65 stamina but 1 hp regen ... , its better than onions ...
I keep using turnip stew unitil plains but eyescream are for good fights or 2 stamina foods 1 hp food build

Not sure why everybody values frost arrows so much and Eyescream so little. Needles are the best arrows and even Obsidian will serve you very well and are REALLY cheap to make. Much easier then frost.

Eyescream on the other hand is really easy to make (by now you should be swimming in Greydwarf eyes) and is the best stamina food buff you can get in the Mountains. And you will get a lot of glands, because you will have to kill a lot of drakes when venturing there.

Obsidian or needles for arrows, frost glands for Eyescream. Served me very well. I'm now swimming in needle arrows.

Can't speak for others, but for me it's because Serpents.

I don't specifically hunt serpents as lox is good enough(tm) for me. Are they specifically vulnerable to frost that a needle arrow can't do? I mean, I killed my first serpent with flint arrows...

Yes, they are weak to Frost, and the added slow effect is icing on the cake.

I mean, it's your choice if you value this high enough to forego Eyescream. For me it never was a choice. I don't specifically need frost arrows and Eyescream is still good enough for daily scouting in the plains AND it is damn cheap to make, sooo.... yeah. :)

^^^ you guys must hunt drakes a lot more than I do. Maybe I should make it a purposeful activity instead of 'whatever attacks me' approach.

I know eyescream is better. Its just not enough better when you have a small supply of glands and don't care to farm up a bunch. Different takes on it, I guess.

@jonnin: Whenever I ventured into the mountains I had a lot of drakes on my tail. Not sure what they saw in me... ;)

And, yes, I agree. That is the beauty of this game, that you can choose between different purposes for a finite resource.

i generally save eyescream for loading up on stamina to haul in tuna, just because i'd rather save the eyes for portals.. but it is a nice dish that pairs well with serpent stew..

Eyescream is a Level 3 Recipe. You will need the Chopping Block or the pan set (meaning you will need Silver or Black Metal) in addition to the Spice Rack before being able to make it.

You need Greydwarf eye and freeze gland to make Eyescream.
If you have both and still do not have any recipe for eyescream, then it only means that you need to upgrade your cauldron. And for that you need silver.

You need silver for the last cauldron upgrade, but eyescream was something I could make without it. It was my best stamina food for a long time... until I discovered silver. What I could never make before I found silver was the baked goods. I had an oven and nothing to use it for. I had barley flour and no recipes which used it. Fyi. But definitely upgrade the cauldron as much as you are able.

Freeze glands are loot from drakes. You don't craft them.

If you meant "from" and not "for," you'll have to get some Obsidian to get the arrow recipes.
You will also have to upgrade your Cauldron to Level 3 before you get the "Eyescream" recipe.
