The end of an era

The new update has "stamina now saved on logout". this means you can't swim forever now but it also cripples the admittedly small Valheim speed running community. re-logging to refresh stamina is a core strat in speed running and without it, the future looks tougher.
I'm sure Nick Rawcliffe and ThreadMenace will figure it out tho, those guys are crazy good.

You must not know what the definition of a complaint is. Because if you did then you'd know you're complaining :steamfacepalm:. Swim forever? Why would you ever need to do this? You do know there are these things called boats...... anyways speed racer I'll let you get back to your complaining.

I never knew this was a thing.
I do enjoy me some speedrunning, or watching it and the tech that goes into it now and then, and did watch some Valheim speedruns in the past but it was a long time ago.
I'm curious to how they'll have to overcome this, especially in random seed assuming that's a category.
Thanks for sharing :ghlol:

I wouldn't call it spam. It's a fair complaint to me I don't think you should delete it.

speed runners adapt, thats their genre of play style.

will this affect logging into a hub world to recover stamina and then returning to main world? or just leaving and reentering the same world?

Can confirm, logging out and back did not regenerate stamina on test. Found that out during my epic plains corpse run. I did go to a different world, but instead of worrying about stamina I made a raft.

I don't really like speedruns where the game gets cheesed that much. That's like the microseconds you save by constantly pausing and resuming Perfect Dark

Walking and looking downward on 007 Goldeneye to save a couple seconds is legit

Relogging should be it's own category.

The only speedrun I'll ever attempt is vanilla permadeath
