Cheesing Mistlands as a Solo
How are you solo's dealing with Mistlands? Do you have to cheese every step forward?

Found a 2 star Seeker. Destroyed me thru block in 2 hits. Kinda nuts. Frustrated....but sorta in a good way.

I pop bonemass then go berzerk on the 1-2 stars. normal ones are easy.
the soldiers act / has same dynamic as the Lox, so think how you would fight a lox basically.
Gjall however.... sometimes you kill it before it gets to you. sometimes it will murder you to death, shooting fire AND dropping tics
i play solo - no mods

...doing okay, solo. Using the sheer rocks to cheezy satisfaction. Gotta upgrade my quiver however, usually just run simple wooden arrows and the Soldiers soak up a ton and that crazy hover blob, I can't even register a hit on it, lol. My bow skill at 100, so I usually do okay with all existing NPCs with wood and draugar bow...no longer.
Only mobs of 1-2's....single star Soldiers, so far. I am usually running and gulping stamina potions. I was not truly prepared, just a few forays earlier today. I'm lucky, it's in an already explored Mistland biome that somehow magically is spawning some mobs, without this dreaded 'fog' I keep hearing about. Gonna really cheeze out on this little nugget of respawning available loot before I have to explore the uncharted locations I left ample areas of; I chose to only run in a few island areas during EA, expanding only as they get developed. I've got another Mistlands explored zone and I hope it will provide some cheezy tidbits as well.

As for your question, bonemass is key, and I usually don't explore until its up. Also the big flying bug things, area great for blowing up stone forts, so if you like building with the black stone now, i usually just kit it around and let it destroy stuff for me. In dungeons, the sledgehammer works great as the bugs get stuck a lot in door ways.

Died 3 times in ten minutes, blocking is now useless. So many skill points lost, making me in essence, useless against these new things. My best armor is useless, my best weapons do little. I think the grading of the new area is stupidly overpowered.

If you are not playing the vanilla game please keep in mind the QoL of your mods and the impact they have before replying. Thank you

Slowly and carfully :P
well i mostly got my stuff before i killed Yagluth.
Crafted the crossbow and just screamed everytime i heard that damn war of the world sound. hate those flying things.
just parried and used the frostner for most of my run. halberd for ticks.. tho i dunno if the sledge would be better for those,
of and for the flying thing hit it in the belly for bonus dmg. try to get a sneak attack in.

Just being careful. I played it blind on the public test. When I first encountered the locals I had absolutely no idea what to expect. imagine my surprise when hitting a rock to see if it was the black marble summoned the seekers out of the mist. The devs managed to surprise me with something as dreadful as deathsquitoes when you first encounter them. Died as I didnt expect them and wasn't prepped for that level of kiting and combat.
They arent bad one on one. They get dangerous when they attack in groups of two or more. They hit hard and often and are aggressive with the wings so running horizontally simply isnt possible, with having alot of stamina or another biome mob to aggro them onto.
If geared right, aggression is best as you can stunlock them into a parry state if you hit them hard enough and often enough. Frostner or a atgeir wrecks them well enough.

yea, pots and good food, i went 2 hp 1 stamina food.
the solder one is weak at the rear area, so parry go behind and just smack it, the slow from frostner really helped me.

I have yet to even encounter a two star mistland mob as a solo. And if they are that scary, I will dread the day I find one.
