2 player co-op?

Would this be a good game for two people to play together? Or are more people recommended?

What is there to do beyond base-building? Are there dungeons to delve into? Quests to complete? Will NPC's move into our town? Can we build a tavern and get quests from NPC's?

I've been eyeballing these private server RPG's. Conan Exils, V Rising, Valheim. I am sad that they seem to be primarily PvP focused and have next to nothing in co-operative play. Is Valheim different?

Game is fun if you like building roads bridges towns forts ect... They need more unique areas in each biome.
Also more random monsters lurking about.
IF this game had an illegitimate love child with Balders Gate 3 I would marry her when she came of age.
Problem is, based on both their track records so far, the combined development time for that game would span centuries.

yes no yes no. No NPCs really. You are dead and reborn in Valhalla helping Odin pacify it from monsters. Quite fun solo too but just as fun with a helpful friend. I assume you can make a taverrn and I've seen hot baths/saunas.

I'm thinking about renting a server from host havoc. I'll have to try it out first and see if I like it, and then convincing my dad to play.

Are there lots of mods available?

I've been running a server on g-portal for a long time now. Lots of good builds on there. V plus is an easy option built in that I have utilized. Very granular. lets you change most if not all of the default setting/base stats. No fall damage, no weathering , increased exp, etc. just a toggle switch , then of course a config file, but they give you a built in menu for editing if you'd like.

im pretty sure yes! (i dont use) but keep in mind officially not supported so even a small update may break your game until mods update. (ps im a dad so it could easily pass his inspection imho :-) Skall !! Ohh...Back up your worlds AND Characters often i do like every second day..or if i pass a milestone. if u use cloud you can now just switch from cloud to loacl and back to cloud in about 1 to 2 minutes before you start each day.. but w mods i know nothing. more Skall :-) !!

I would love to see a base building co-operative RPG like this where you can build a village and NPC's move in, and they give you work to do via quests.

Building a tavern should give you daily quests.

Also, dungeons. There should be dungeons to find and pillage with your friends.

I wish this game existed. I would love to set up my own private server, and have the tools to customize things. Like the server admin is the DM of his own D&D campaign. Of course doesn't have to be branded a "D&D" game that's just the idea.

There are crypts and caves to explore. They aren't very complex. You can complete them and not get lost even without mapping on paper or using an AP. The game can be played cooperatively. I am playing a game on a server with 3 other players. We have player damage turned off and share resources and every time one of us builds a new outpost we make sure that there are 4 beds and a portal that leads to one of our portal hubs. There are no quests per se. Ravens give you information and there are bosses to kill that unlock events and items. The game feels much more like a sand box than a quest or story driven game.

No Man's Sky's multiplayer was added as an afterthought. Its still got bugs in it after all these years and even when you are playing coop its more like soloing at the same time and in the same place. Weather doesn't sync, ship and pirate battles don't sync, and resources can duplicate or disappear because multiplayer doesn't sync.

I have over 1,500 hours on No Man's Sky and don't recommend it for multiplayer for anything other than the Expeditions.

If you want a multiplayer sandbox where you can have literally hundreds of players either coop or PVP Factorio is a good one. The only issue with it is that is a 3D emulator in 2D. There is a free demo you can download and play to see if you like it before you commit to buying it.

This is a great game for two player co-op. There are no quests, there are no NPC's (aside from one merchant)

It is basically you and your friend(s) vs the environment/inhabitants.

It's building , crafting , and planning, to be the most viable for survival as your progress the the current 5 biomes (6 if you count incomplete ocean biome) I've played solo, I played with a group of 4 friends, I've played with a group of 3 family. I've played 2 player co-op.

You do not purchase or find gear or weapons. You craft what you need from raw materials found in the environment. Armor , weapons, food, mead (potions), etc.

It is a unique experience.

It sounds a lot like Minecraft, except with no NPC's.

I'd love this if they had terraria style NPC spawning. You build a house and suddenly an NPC appears and starts living there. "Why are you in my house?"
