Regarding Mods And Valheim Updates

We want to remind everyone that Valheim doesn't officially support mods. While we understand that many players enjoy using mods to enhance their gaming experience, it's important to note that every little update to the game can break your mods.

We know that this can be frustrating, but we want to make it clear that if you choose to use unofficial modifications, you do so at your own risk. Valheim doesn't provide any official support for mods, and as a result, we cannot guarantee that they will continue to work after each update.

It's also worth mentioning that no one is to blame if your mods break after an update. It's simply a risk you take when using unofficial modifications. While we do understand the appeal of using mods to add new content, fix bugs or improve gameplay mechanics, it's important to weigh the potential consequences against the benefits.

As always, we encourage all players to enjoy Valheim in whatever way brings them the most fun and enjoyment. Just keep in mind that if you choose to use mods, you may need to adjust your expectations accordingly. Thank you for your understanding, and happy gaming!

I don't think it was the update that broke the mods. I think it was modding a game that is still in Early Access that broke the mods.

It will be a problem for modding any game, especially one that does not support mods.

Don't complain about it, this is all on you.

Ive never complained about anything. Why people are so stuck in the way they behave in forums. Dont complain boy bla bla. Man so much bad energy and toxic comments in gaming forums u can rly see how frustrated and isolated some people are. They dont support mods cause theyre a 5 man team how should they even handle all this and they dont have to. There is a rly huge community making mods and trying to get all stable. Of course if the game doesnt work properly and u modded u took the risk. Thats totaly fine. But dont spin my words the only thing im complaining about now is the behavior in the forums from different people. And for those playing without mods omg u miss so much i feel rly bad for u.

Dat's why I never mod till the final version (if then). If a bug makes the game unplayable I just put it away till it's fixed.

Just play your Modded Backup until the mod is updated

You surely have a backup of the modded version ?!

Expect that as a common occurrence with every update. Your mod dev will either fix it or they won't.

Just like any other game with mod support, you'll have to wait for a mod update.

I tried to activate an older version before the update but seems thats no longer possible. I have backups of all my mods but not the game itself.
I have several backups of the game
* Vanilla
* Rotating Blocks version (not compatibel with the farm grid)
* Transport (Character has 20 Rows of Inventory to move my stuff from one seed to a other)
* Gardening (allows to plant all kinds of Trees) this mod is buggy and so i load this game version if needed
* Backup of my normal modded game

Just tried it and its fine usable.

Just copy your complete Gamefolder as soon as all your mods run again fine. Then you can keep playing this version after the next update.

Well. I guess the new savegames from the new updated Vanilla game are no longer downward compatible. So i will not load my existent world savegames with the new version until i am sure all mods run fine

Thank you for pointing out that you understand your mods are the issue and that your choice to mod an EA game is the reason for your woes. I appreciate that you are not blaming the game, updates, developers, etc. I'm sure the mods will be updated soon so you can continue playing.
