There are seeds out there but honestly you will ruin the game for yourself. Nothing more fun than having to farm resources to build a ship and take enough supplies to explore and having no idea whats out there. I tend to have a portal at home, bring portal mats with me on me and small base building mats in the ship. Go out and build a portal to where I explore, name it and sail back home. Then I have one master portal i rename as if im dialing a location to each point I have established an outpost. Sometimes it goes wrong and i die ect. But its exciting and half the fun of the game.

What's your seed? As far as I know it is unlikely that you'll find crypts close to the spawn. The generation algo makes sure that swamps are at a certain distance from the spawn.

I think carrot seeds are pretty good, surely not the best but I am partial to carrots.

Melon seeds are really cool. Packed with protein, fats, and several useful minerals. Arguably the perfect size for snacking or planting, the husk is edible (unlike some other seeds!) and contains a nice amount of fiber. Bonus feature is that you can harness rainwater and the sun to grow quite tasty fruit from it, and get more seeds to eat or plant!

Though all seriousness aside; I quite like the seed "JRRTolkien" for exploration, as it starts you off on a humongous landmass with a lake next to spawn and a myriad of scenic rivers to use if you don't want to sail all the way around the island. It has a large mountain range north of spawn that is nestling a saltwater lake. Boss spawns aren't the best, but they are all fairly close to the spawn island.

The landscape by spawn is very hilly and fun to navigate, and I believe it gets flatter on the southern part of the island, but I may be wrong!

The closer we get to Mistlands the more important it may be to have someone check your seed to make sure the Trader locations aren't out where the Mistllands will be. Also especially for newer players, might check to make sure there are routes to Traders that don't pass near Plains.

The "Valheim" seed is awesome, but not for the faint of heart... meaning, you need some experience. ;)
