Magic Trainers

I can't recall which of our streaming content providers suggested leveling elemental magic using stone golem training pits but it
works perfectly. The golem is immune to the frost staff so you are only limited by how quickly your eitr can re-generate. I will likely build a resting chamber on the rim of this pit to get the resting bonus.

For that matter, do the "dig a pit, put a roof on it, and smack Yagluth in the stomach" cheese, but bring a bow and a couple thousand arrows. At 10,000 hp, 75% pierce resistance means you would need something like 19+ stacks of wooden arrows assuming you never miss... and cheesing the AI means zero incoming damage potential while you burn through 2 full chests of arrows (and quite a few bows, too... at least 9 crude bows, by my count)... and that's also before factoring in regeneration.

According to the math at https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Skills that's about 2,728.5 "bows" XP; enough to hit level 44 in bows if you never fired one before the fight... and still not factoring in regeneration, which could very well make the fight impossible to finish without switching to a weapon Yagluth isn't resistant to.

back to the pit thing, if its really hard for you, build a U terrain wall, lead it inside to fight you, and build up the exit once its inside. I use this more on lox, to tame them, but it works fine IF you can take a few hits from the thing and block/stagger/confuse it enough to close the exit before it tries to get out.

Jesus christ, you must be great fun to be around. Nobody likes an officious pedant.

Ok, you dont like golems? Fine, dig a hole under a a grey dwarf spawner and plink them from the edge. They spawn every few seconds, so its nearly as fast, and if there's ever a lull, well its the black forest- punch a tree or rock and grey dwarves will try to swarm you from around the area, especially at night. Happy now?
No? Ok, go find one of those platforms in the swamp with 2 draugr and 1 skeleton spawners on then and build your camping hut by that and plink them. 3 spawners, no waiting. How about now?
Sheesh.

False.

Many enemies are immune to spirit and/or poison, and surtlings are immune to both of those... and fire.

Time to make a training compound at a fire geyser? You're welcome.

and it is also possible that this information is dated or just in error. And it is also possible that the developers may further modify the game to add some blunt component to the Staff of Frost[valheim.fandom.com] or change damage susceptibility of the golem[valheim.fandom.com]. And if so, we will adapt! What a great game!

Not gonna lie, Adding a pierce component to frost staff would make more sense aesthetically.

I mean, you're shooting shards; Sharp, pointy shards.
frostbite debuffs that strips armor would be cool and wouldnt take away purpose from already existing sources of pierce dmg

The game may or may not allow the frost staff to damage a stone golem but there are other opponents that are likewise immune to various damage types. If the game eventually releases a Staff of Poison then using it against a trapped Bonemass would be equally viable.

there is currently no real learning curve behind the combat awareness in any way, shape or form, the argument wether someone is using exploits for adding in a magic dummy when the game already provides that feature is just absolute nonsense

the game intentionally or unintentionally gets bosses stuck and infinitely respawning trash mobs, but somehow its cheaty to slap a dummy ?

lol.. easiest game to ever minmax and you assume they cheat when the games combat skill progression is based on hit regs :lunar2019laughingpig:

Well, harpoons work on them, and failing that, try to position them at the lip of the pit and parry their fast attack( that should stun them longer than the heavy attack for some reason). Many mobs are surprisingly easy to push around while they are staggered.

If you set up your spacing just right, you can position yourself so that the resting buff stays active while you train, which drastically improves your eitr regen. you need to stay far enough away so aiming can be a tad wonky, but the ♥♥♥♥ shack I have set up works near perfectly.
