You just simply were the victim of the event spawn as others have noted due to the "You are being Hunted message". Event was active at that time.

However for future reference:

1. You can also have rare situations of creatures from one biome wandering into that of another biome when chasing its denizens. This is easier to see in the past with draugr from swamps chasing deer in the meadows or slimes doing similar. However it can happen with other creatures cross biome'n too.

2. You can also opt to double check. You map seed on this site: https://valheim-map.world As there are rare instances of maps having different small pixels of biomes embedded in that of other biomes. I've a map seed I use that has that issue with forest denizens in a large meadow area where just one small set of pixels that can spawn randomly trolls and dwarves upon it.

3. If you dislike dealing with events as a whole, you can always move between map seeds and always keeping the event to be the first one with boars and necks instead.

I have for example seeds for each boss fight goals for such a consideration and a main no bosses killed seed for similar and just look at seed map traveling as portaling if you will.

And for example, how can you be prepared for beeing hunted by 31 wolves in the middle of fighting a fuling village with some lox in the mix not beeing able to drink a healing and stamina potion for 1:30 mins and then a hunt happens? When you just entered the plains and still wear wolf armor and silver weapons?

Nah that´s simply badly made imo. If they want us to die that bad, don´t do with lazy random mass spawns.

Bonemass forsaken power and if you saw the hunt start when you were fighting the fulings back away and let the wolves fight some of the plains creatures.

Yes, might be a lot, but it can happen. Heck even fighting a 2 star fuling and a hunt happening is enough. Or even just having finished a fight and not beeing able to drink potions.

Bad luck shouldn´t be part of the game concept. And the hunt is exactly that.

I typically just go hop on a rock and chill. Provided you can find one.

This event only happens in the plains and mountains.

I didn´t play since before hearth and home and it just happened for the first time outside the mountains on day 310. So no. I didn´t know. Before i came here i was 100% sure it can only happen in the mountains and only happened to me in the plains because i was somewhat near the mountain biome.

This game may just be too hard for some people.

No need to sh*t all over the guy, he legit thought it was bugged (though this wouldnt be the place to post a bug report)

I uncovered that way before. What i meant was that i didn´t enter it on the day the hunt happened. Haven´t been in the mountain biome for like 10 days at that point. I just happened to be near.

The hunt constantly happened in the mountains. Like at least every 2 days sometimes even daily. First time in around 30 days in the plains that it happened there.

It doesnt trigger only in the mountains, its an event that triggers anywhere.

Uhhm what? It´s day 310 and this is the first time this happened outside of the mountains. We had a ton of them before, all in the mountains.

Well that´s even more bad then. 31 wolves. For one person. Random mass encounters with no preparation time because they can´t provide a challenge otherwise. Lazy game design tbh.
