Occasionally a certain fish with give scrap iron as a bonus resource. Oozers will also occasionally drop one piece of scrap iron and you can find a couple scrap iron here and there in the swamp itself if you know where to look from playing through before or use the wiki but if you want a lot of iron scrap at once you'll have to find crypts and mine out the mud piles.

Anyway, you can find iron in the sunken tombs found in the swamps. You'll need the key from the Elder to access them. Dig through the muddy walls inside the tombs and search chests there to find iron scraps to smelt into ingots.

So there is no iron ores? Like deposits?

And the post was on a wiki, so I thought it was new, but it literally said only way to get iron was through FISHING!

Iron scraps are essentially ores. Just as you did with copper and tin ores, just toss them into a smelter to get ingots.

Yes, there are kind of "deposits" buried throughout the swamps' exterior as well (muddy scrap piles) But so far there are no "veins", "ores" or anything alike, it'll just get you "iron scraps" or "iron" when smelted.

What the game has is called bog ore. It's settled into the clay. Plenty there though. Most metal in japan came that way, it didn't stop them from making Katana's.

Plus mistlands now have scrap iron you can mine

i agree and think it kinda lame. i'd like to be able to mine it like the tin and copper, not dig it out of the muck.
