It doesn't matter what biome you're in, raids of all sorts will come your way over time. My fave is the troll raid, since its tough to stop them from smashing up your stuff.

Plains has a lot of large boulders you can use to make high enough walls to prevent raids from dealing a lot of damage to your base. Raise the ground a bit and then put up some sort of wall or fencing and you should be fine.

My new play through has my first base built on an offshore boulder in meadows. Never had a raid there. Eventually after killing first and second boss I explore and find a nice swamp which also included bonemass (had no idea it was there) where I built another small base on top of one of the sunken crypts. This is where I had my first raid ever of skeletons/drauger which I could've ignored due to having an earthen wall with fencing lining the top but I wanted the free resources.

Modern day game devs / industry not enlightened enough to understand why people play their games. Combat is pretty bad in this game anyway and all they do is keep you constantly engaged with nuisance mobs that do nothing other than waste the player's time.

They just don't have a clue of the dynamic of what their game is and why people want to be in it ( or why they are forced to stop)

This is right at the start. How in the world would i be able to defeat the second boss in black forest with nothing but a rag tunic and a stone axe? assuming i could have survived through greydwarves, trolls and skeletons first? This is getting a bit afield the point i was making though.

This lot was just wondering around and then i end up dead.

Imo the combat is pretty good, esp with magic/ability mods and epic loot that gives u longtime motivation to improve ur gear

i've seen greydwarves lead by a brute and skeletons in the meadows and i know they don't belong there, in both instances before i had created a base and in both cases i was killed either instantly or in two hits.

these groups of black forest mobs were so far from home and deep inside the meadows, near the starting point.

Theres a killall cheat u know. Or some cool magic mods that make fighting way more fun and diverse

I just had a fuling invasion in the meadows. Shamans, berserkers, the whole nine yards. That was a first... ate yet another death. My wooden meadows buildings will not stand up to an invasion like that! I've weathered blobs, ice drakes, draugr, trolls, sirtlings, ... most things there, but fulings are too much. I went straight to work building stone walls around my main base.

In plains I have had trolls and wolves but not blobs... but it's probably random. Just a random thing you have to deal with. One advantage I have for my main plains house is that there's a herd of lox nearby. The dumb raiders always wind up attacking the lox and getting smashed... last raid I hardly had to do anything, the lox took care of it! :)

Is there a swamp nearby? Mobs can wander outside of "their" biomes.

One of the raid events can also bring blobs to non-swamp biomes, and they can linger after the event ends.

Yes oozes are one of the raid possibilities

Higher-level mobs start attacking your base as you kill bosses.
Since you can move freely between the worlds, you can have one world where you progress by killing bosses and acquiring items to proceed in the next biome, and another world where you don't kill any bosses and just chill out building/exploring.
The only "raid" you'll have in that peaceful world is the boars/neck attacks triggered by the first boss, i.e. free food delivery to your doorstep.
