Recently started randomly hearing a 'scratchy' attack-style sound like a boar striking a fence, but nothing is around.
As the title states, random noises of things getting attacked but no enemies, no damage, sometimes nothing of mine to be attacked. I'm really confused why I keep hearing the sounds. It started right after this last update with making AI more aggressive so I assumed it was something attacking my buildings, but I hear it in certain places every time, and nothing is around.

Mobs still spawn inside boulders sometimes. That could be it, or maybe they added another annoying false noise to the game.

Hmm. Noticed a new annoying scratchy sound tonight too. Was cooking meat on 3 racks and the usual appropriate cracklings sounds were different - as in repeating scratchy sounds. That's new for me - and I don't like it.

I routinely get a skellie that gets into deep water and just tries to stab a neck in the water above him. The neck aggros and the two of them sit there making those sounds all night.

Probably a mob stuck underground.
There is a dev command to kill everything around you. Might try that. Be careful though because it will also kill any tamed animals.
