Obviously, you can't build a pillar beneath a pillar - without being beneath the pillar in most cases , that part is awkward , but you can clip Stone platforms a notch downward

So my whole dock is mainly stone

WHAT? For an early access game, this games building is FANTASTIC! I have a dock. It is about 12-14 squares out. Gotta put some beams down in the water to hold her up.. Just like in real life. I also noticed you really should roof that B1tch too. The planks rot to fast and become unstable over time.

No one here would complain if they improved it.

Building is mostly fine..Building docks or anything in water is so ridiculously difficult with zero feedback it's just dumb.

I built plenty of docks... never had an issue. Snapping can be a bit tricky, but mostly fine. But docks aren't really necessary, just nice to have anyway

What's wrong with it? The only problem I've had with placing things in water is the range you can place at and swimming putting your tool away. Just build a walkway or use a raft as mobile scaffolding.
