It's still a knife. You might end up replacing it but until then you could always level up the skill on those greylings that constantly pester you.

Knives have a high sneak attack bonus especially when you use the special attack, if you want to live dangerously.

I use the knife as my primary weapon. Never made a sword/mace or spear... I also don't use shields. I run with knife/bow and light armors.

To date, I have done most of my progression playing with my wife as the "tank" on our server.
I also play a single player world where i have zero issues solo with this build through the Iron age.
On our server, I have dropped trolls one shot by sneaking up on them in the troll cave and using the special attack to the back. (fully upgraded abyssal razor) The silver knife and the black metal knife are nearly OP IMO.
I have always played "rouge" in other games and Valheim has the mechanics to make this build work.
Sure I use copious amounts of arrows and cheese and kite when it is necessary.

Make bronze by combining copper and tin.

You need to make forge upgrades. The upgrades are actually seperate constructions you need to place close to your forge. Certain objects need certain levels of a forge or workbench.

Another reason you may not be able to make more is that you haven't touched certain items yet. If, for example, you need ancient bark for some item, but you never stumbled on ancient bark, that item won't be visible in the rolldown on your forge.

you usually unlock recipes when you have encountered the necessary materials for those recipes. So if you dont see the option to make bronze yet, then you probably havent found (or processed at least) tin yet. Bronze unlocks a bunch of stuff for ya. If that is the case then tin is also found in the black forest, near water's edge. Its a somewhat shiny, not quite silvery, rather small rock (instead of the large copper boulders embedded into the earth).
