The thing about Linux is it can be lightweight enough to run on emulation without *feeling* like something running on emulation. Valheim's server is pretty low impact too, even with serverside sim running.

For us, we wanted to use Linux (personal preference) for the server, but we don't have a computer that is solely running Linux. We also wanted to be able to shut down, destroy, rebuild, etc., the server should we decide to and not have it affect the computer running it in any way. It really was a matter of convenience, and in the end it's worked really well for us so I wanted to share with any who would be interested.

Yeah, that's very helpful. I know you *can* run a Linux server but without previous steamcmd experience I'd have no idea where to start.
