Valheim No Sound At All - Please Help
Hi, I just bought valheim and loaded it up but it has no audio. Please help me :(
Things i've done to try to fix it, to no avail.
- I've reinstalled the game, verified game integrity, restarted my pc, all multiple times.
- deleted the sound settings in the registry
- reinstalling my audio drivers
- turning the audio sliders in game all the way down and back up
- checking my volume mixer
- checking my chosen audio device on windows.
- I have tried running both normally and on Vulkan.
all other games have sound and I have no issue. This is only happening with Valheim.
I'm running on Windows 10 64-bit btw

Very common cause seems to be spatial audio. Right-click the speaker icon, point to Spatial Sound and turn it off.

I also have no sound suddenly. I have played the game for around 100 hours with no issues until now. No settings have been changed, no updates have been made, but it just stopped working only for this game...everything else on my PC works fine. I have also tried everything above and more and nothing seems to fix it.

That's good to know, thanks for posting. Several other posts have been made about sound issues and I don't know if anyone came up with solutions that worked of not. Maybe toss a post about it on the bug forum? :)

It isn't my solution :) People in this forum take a turns to suggest it to others since it helped someone in the past.

My spatial audio was already off.
However, I found a fix that worked for me. I just had to close Sonic Studio and then the audio started working after relaunching the game.
Really strange because all my other games have no audio issues, just Valheim.

NalsrA's fix of closing Sonic Studio also fixed my problem of no sound. Spatial audio was already off and was not a factor.

Windows has this option per every audio device with "allow application exclusive access" or sth. along those lines. Try changing that option and running Valheim and Sonic Studio at the same time again? Maybe that will help.
And/or start Sonic Studio after Valheim?
Are any of the other games using the unity engine too?
