I found arrows but no bow. one just chased me around the black forest. I used it to destroy the trees then i hid in a cave.... then skeletons chased me out of the cave.

No bow?

You should by now have built at least some sort of shelter so that you can make a hammer and then a workbench and then a bow.

Find a meadows area and start in. Maybe repair an abandoned building to start.

Here's a pointer for that: Learn to use the S key, run and sprint backwards, then watch for an opportunity to attack. If you can kite them to an open meadow even better. Less things for you to jump over and trees don't get in the way of your arrows.

You might have to die a few times to improve your skill or you could be a natural but imo when someone does manage to fight that way, it's worth all the pain.

I've found that firearrows are about the fastest way I've been able to kill one. They are a bit resource intensive, but well worth it IMO.

Kite them through the trees with a Bow.
They will help you get wood

If you have a base with troll problems, dig trenches and build earth walls. They can't jump and they suck at ranged combat. And make upgrading your bow a priority unless you want to be a dead hero (well, you already are a dead hero, but you know what I mean). Anyone who fights an enemy on the enemy's terms deserves what they get (usually, a nice funeral). Eventually you'll get to the point where you can one-shot the big blue nuisances and then you'll feel sorry for them.

Finewood bow or bronze shield + bronze spear makes the job super fast

No reason to melee trolls unless you like to. One hit and you could die. Ping them with arrows. May take a while depending on the arrow and bow type, but you stay out of its range.

Make your first shot a head shot while sneaking with a fire arrow. Gives you a bit of a head start.

You can't just square off with a troll. You have to dodge and keep moving and attack when an opportune moment presents itself. If you roll left or right you'll dodge him every time if you time it perfectly. Dodging forward between his legs works too if you're crafty enough, but rolling backwards probably isn't a good idea being he'll more than likely strike you regardless. If all else fails, run away until he loses interest in you and walks away.

use your bow. run away, hide behind things then shoot the trolls. I usually find some big trees or rocks the trolls have hard time moving through and just circle through and around them but yeah trolls are scary af

Bow

Parry with a shield, though usually this is only viable at bronze tier. If you run out of stamina while fighting then run back and regain, then continue to fight. They're slow bois!

I sneak and hit them with flame arrows then run and shoot til they die. have to walk to regain stamina at times and it gets close but if u eat high hp food then its easier.

Parry em with a bronze buckler, wombo combo them with weapon. Or use a bow if you're a coward
