Salutations.
I am looking at purchasing this game and have a some questions.
First, Can I set up a local area network on one computer for several people. I intend on playing externally on other servers as well, but have a very low upload speed, so hosting for external is out of the question.
Second, Will I have trouble going between the local and external servers, if I host a LAN server.
Third, Are there any complications in playing between those who only use GoG instead of Steam.
Lastly, Does the LAN server save as if I am hosting a regular server.
Thank you and Game On!

Just a bump, to see if anyone has any answers. If not, then no worries. Cheers and Game On!

Hosting is done via TCP/IP, so you should have no trouble doing so locally.
You can hop between hosting your own server, joining others' servers, and playing offline as much as you like, the game is designed to be played that way.
No idea about GOG/Steam interplay, but as long as both platforms are updated to the same version I suspect it will work. Multiplayer backend seems pretty OG, with only minimal Steamworks integration.
Locally hosted servers work and save the same regardless if clients are connecting via WAN or LAN.
