Seems like it's the boss being on a tiny island that made this a weird fight, but surely that also comes with some good options for cheesing the fight using the water and cramped conditions. Yag's a fire boss, how does he feel about being wet?

No, it's just that the other point was more interesting. The answer to yours is a Google search away, and it works the same for all bosses and monsters in every biome.

Like what are these devs thinking? What a stupid decision to massively buff the boss and make the lox into alpha predators.

Been battling Yagluth last few hours, just taking a break with restocking since he healed after whittling him down to about 50%. I need something better than porcupine since that does 30-50 grey dmg per hit on him.
It has been epic but tiresome. Have died 5 times out there.

I don't know how he was before but now he absolutely destroys the scenery. Nothing is safe from his destructive powers! Nothing but, well, all of the habitants. Seems that locals really do get along with the boss since they do not take any damage from Yagluths attacks. None. Zero. Zip.
I would hope that there is a small hotfix on the way so that, for example, lox would be set on fire and take damage from gigantic fireball rocks. Nothing needs to agro on him but his powers should make anything suffer if hit

If you guys are having Lox problems at Yag just tame the whole herd.
Build up some walls right there and toss tons of berries at them until they're your friends. Doesn't take long, and they're easy to kite being so big. THEN summon Yag.

I saw a vid of a dude with a huge Lox ranch on Yag's spawn just letting the Lox kill him. Took forever but they can just about do it on their own (if there's enough of them).

That is, if the point is that Yagluth does seem incapable of harming loxs, fulins, bees and growts.
It just feels illogical that they do not take any damage from any of Yagluths attacks but maybe somebody will explain this?

surprised you managed to make it to the Yag..

As long as they are not your loxes, they are best buds with all bosses (just like anything else in Valheim). And judging by the hunting behaviour my herd shows toward anything that moves, they have always been Alpha predators.

If the island is tiny enough, clear it out and set up work benches before you try Yag next to prevent mob spawns.

The fight was on a tiny island and the lox spawned, wandered into the boss arena and aggored while we were fighting him...

This game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ jank now. Worse than at launch in some ways.

The fact that your portal is so close to the boss altar that it got destroyed by Yagluth is not the devs fault.

Also Yagluth seems as strong/weak to me as he was months ago. It sounds like you lacked preparation and now have to blame someone else for the result.
