Do bosses have stamina just like players do?
I just fought Moder in my game and there was a point during the fight where he landed, attacked me once, and then just sat there taking hits and doing nothing for a while.
I'm just wondering, do the bosses have 'stamina' that needs to regen just like players do, or should I report it as a bug?

I have a hard time resisting the urge to dig out silver, just for the pop. When digging from directly under the node it's quick, you are safe from everything, except maybe the occasional wolf that drops down for a visit. Very fun, which is good since it takes so much silver to make Frostner, the crystal axe, the sword, only thing cheap to make is the shield.

Like a baloon. You let it float and pop it with a pick.I'm going to guess that I didn't, because I don't even know what "popping" silver means. LOL The real question is did you pop any silver, if you did not *pop* any and just "dug it out", you missed the best feature of the whole biome.
Notably, if you gonna try it dont dig it out from the top, find the vein and dig from below it sideways, much faster. Some Veins are spawned inside rocks which spoil the fun but usually you still can dig those rocks mostly out to have it float properly.

More specifically, just do something like this (preferably minus the stone golem):

If you dig around the silver vein and separate all 3 of its points (and the bottom of the deposit) from the surrounding terrain it will float in the air. A couple of strikes on the top in the center will shatter the vein into a shower of ore and stone.I'm going to guess that I didn't, because I don't even know what "popping" silver means. Enemies don't have stamina, but most creatures (excluding bosses of course) do have staggering mechanics.

Nope, should be apparent because they will run your ass down 100% of the time in a straight line sprint.
But no mobs can chain together combos, so it's asymmetric balance.

Moder often gets stuck on the ground where she can't hit you, especially if you're lower than she is.
I just fought Moder as well, but she didn't get stuck very often. Using full Fenris armor and a silver knife. It was actually easier than I expected with the knife, but it took longer than using a sword.
I also fought bonemass a few hours ago, with the same equipment, and that, of course, was a cakewalk.
Tomorrow might be Yagluth, since I already found two alters, and I'm playing all light armor/weapons, and I don't think there's much to make in plains. Maybe a new dagger, and some lox pies, but I can't think of much else.
FWIW, full Fenris armor was a huge grind. I don't know if this is just a bad map, or if more of the larger mountains are locked behind the wall of mistland now, but I sailed to the mistland barrier 5 or 6 times before I found enough mountains/caves to max the full set. It is nice armor, but I'm sure I coulld have made multiple sets of wolf and/or padded in the time it took.
I also made the flesh rippers, which are a disappointment. They look good on paper, but they're just not (IMO) as good as a good knife, especially combined with a buckler.

Shes just sleepy dragon
The real question is did you pop any silver, if you did not *pop* any and just "dug it out", you missed the best feature of the whole biome. Thanks to everyone and yourself for the rest of the responses as well. Sounds like the fight just isn't too challenging. The whole mountain biome was kind of that way. Only took me a couple days to get the materials to craft and upgrade everything. Onion Seeds proved to be the most elusive thing for the whole biome.

Moder is the Mother Dragon, therefore a she. Her fight can be odd that way. Sometimes she will walk over and stand stuck in trees too. She may or may not recover from that and fly again or just wait for you to poke her enough in her bony dragon ankles to kill her. It can be a sad fight. Truthfully, as an old slow player I pray for sad fights.

LOL, as an old, slow player myself, this made me laugh. Truthfully, as an old slow player I pray for sad fights.

She lands on the ground through the fight for the purpose of letting her be able to be killed by anything other than a bow or inventories full of spears

I was cured of my fondness for spears in the mountains. Doesn't matter how good they are if they go sailing off into the sunset never to be seen again or if you need to play inventory manager on a steep slippery slope with wolfies nipping at your heels & drakes blasting you.
I am quite fond of frost caves and hunt them out. The gear is very good and they remind me a bit of jumping puzzles in GW2. Its easy to just block in the front for a mini base, you get iron, bronze plus the other mats in there and as a bonus I have almost always found silver very close though usually guarded by one or even 2 golems roaming about. But that's ok cuz there are also drakes overhead and one will need many many frost arrows for the rest of the game as it stands now. So, don't zip through the mountains too fast or hope for more mountains.

Thanks @FoxGlovez, I actually do want to do more frost caves. Though I got everything I needed out of the mountains, I did not get enough Cultist trophies to make and fully upgrade the Fenris set.
I have generally gone with the heavier armour available in the game (other than the Troll armour set), but I do like to make both sets for a biome even if I don't use one of them. The movement speed bonus on the Fenris set makes it seem like something I'd use when just toolilng around or revisting old biomes for resources, when armour value is far less important.
I have 2 mountains I haven't explored yet that are in spitting distance of bases I already have set up (I had 3 within just a few minutes of my main base). That's the main reason I probably got through the biome in terms of 'need' so quickly. I just had a game start with a LOT of very nearby mountains on my starter island.

I'm 99% certain nothing but the player has stam. Enemies circling etc is just coded behaviour, probably to simulate stam a bit but they don't actually have a stam metric applied.
The Moder fight is pretty pathetic. idk if devs would agree it's a bug, though; probably more a suggestion.
