Will this game ever have a casual mode?

A mode where things are easier could draw a lot of people to the game. More resources, more inventory or weight capacity, less raids. thoughts on a mode like this?

These options will be available for the server admin to toggle on/off at your leisure.

New options are expected in the next update, whenever it will come, that can make the game easier or harder as the player desires.

The OP was not asking for "no raids," guys.

OP, to answer your question, for things like more resources, more inventory/weight capacity, and less raids, you'll likely have to look to mods for the forseeable future. The devs have not indicated that they're going to implement any such features, although there is an update in the works to toggle raids off altogether.

It's quite literally in the post above you. The devs have absolutely indicated that multiple difficulty scaling options are actively being implemented, and it's not just turning off raids. Combat difficulty, death penalty, resource gathering rate, free build mode, open portals, all to be toggled on/off at will. It's directly above your post. If you're going to be smarmy, at the very least, be correct.

Please read OP's post more carefully. He mentions specific things. (I was wrong about the resource gathering, though.)

EDIT: Nevermind, I was also wrong about the raid rate.

Resource rate and raid rate sliders are both coming in the upcoming difficulty options. No mention of any adjustments to weight capacity or inventory space, unless you consider the inclusion of modes like Hammer Mode which effectively eliminates those aspects of the game by making all construction free. I'm guessing that is probably more extreme than you are wanting though.

One thing people have been taking advantage of for a while is modding, but with any game that is still being actively updated you want to be careful with what exactly you are installing. You might get away with lighter adjustments that don't need to touch your save data such as a change to item weights, but if for example you were to add anything that injects new types of information into your save data, you present a huge risk that a future patch will render your save incompatible.

It's coming i believe with the The Hildir's Quest update when it comes out.
Here is the link that explains some it from the developers themselves: https://www.valheimgame.com/news/development-blog-hold-on-to-your-hats/
