This game screams for an optimization

the game is horribly optimized for the graphics looking, if you have a good base with a decent amount of stuff around your base, you ain't getting more than 60 fps with all low, that at least for me, its not appetizing to play the game. I feel like this game is slowly getting abandoned.

With a 6GB 1060ti and 24GB of RAM the average game runs at around 50-60 FPS, it's ridiculous. The graphics card has a load of 80%. Any game with current graphics runs better.

Okay but how big and dynamic is the actual world in those games and how much of it is skybox.

only thing i wish they would do is add an option to toggle off in game events so i can play in peace.

Stop changing the terrain so much, less you build and change the grounds around you; higher fps youll have. But yeah, this game really needs optimization.

Well, it's Unity. It always sucks in delivering of great visuals and good performance together.

20-50fps with RX580 8GB, i had to lower few things to keep my FPS over 30 in any situation, and yet only moment when i get 60FPS is a staring at empty sea. Sad.

Each time you alter the terrain.... raise land, lower land, flatten land, build on, you are adding more and more 'instances" to the area which add up and start making things run slower.

The devs addressed this in a past update and this was part of the patch notes....

"the new terrain-modification system. The new terrain modification system is made to reduce the number of network instances and make loading faster and smoother. Technically it’s a pretty big change but hopefully you should not notice that much of a difference except some minor behaviour changes to the hoe and pickaxe and of course much smoother loading of areas with a lot of terrain modifications. All terrain modifications after this patch (using the hoe, pickaxe or cultivator) will automatically use the new modification system. For existing areas where heavy terrain modifications have been made before this patch we have added a special console command “optterrain” that basically converts all the old terrain modifications in the nearby area to the new system. To use the “optterrain” console command, you first need to enable the ingame console by adding “-console” as a launch argument for the game."

You are playing an UNFINISHED game yet treating it like it's supposed to be done and polished... Things are still being added, things being removed, things changing constantly, and it would be a huge waste of time and resources to try to "optimize" every time changes were made to the game, and this is why Optimization is generally done near the END of the project, after most everything is in place.

The game is FAR from being abandoned... BUT it is also far from being completed, and probably (my best guess) a couple years away from being finished and ready for optimization in the scale you are expecting.

This recent comment by Suspicious Developments may shed some light on the reality of indie dev work:

It seems that every time someone doesn't like how this game is going, they default to "this game is slowly getting abandoned" or "it's dead". I remember when World of Warcraft, The Burning Crusade came out, tens of thousands of players bashed the expansion saying the game was dying. Yet, the game received a total of 8 expansions, 7 after TBC. If that's your idea of "dead" or "abandonment", I wonder what a game like Tabula Rasa is then? "Super Dead" "Super abandoned"? :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

Valheim is being worked on. Check the news and announcements. Current version is v0.206.5, with content being developed for the Mountain biome, and Mislands biome coming out later this year. The game has received 26 updates since February 2021: https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Version_History

That only depends on how far the developers themselves intend on taking it and when they consider the game as complete, they will move on. They aren't required to let you know when they are done with the game. it could be by the end of this year or a few years from now, the point is that even though you may have heard it all before, it doesn't make the point less valid that one day it will happen.

For now, enjoy what is going on, because it won't come around again.

I don't have that issue. Game runs great. The world save causes a one sec stutter. Are you sure you're system is up to it?

Slowly getting abandoned after receiving a nomination for a GOTY award that they have responded to?? Sounds like you need a better rig mate?

Does this game require optimisation? Duh, it's early early access. It has been said many times in the past. It's not Rocket Science, let alone grade one science. However, you not getting more than 60FPS in Valheim is a personal problem. Some of my friends are getting 100 to 120 FPS for Valheim.
