a slightly different mistlands question
what is the expected gap between announce date and release date? 30, 60, 90 days?
and along a similar line, what kind of lead up do we expect as we get closer to a date, and to release? beta, trailers, dev streams, etc? the teasers that come out arent really coherent in terms of building linearly towards a release announcement. how will the devs telegraph that we are getting close? what should we look for?

Yeah I think typically they are a 3 month cycle in the beta test branch
that's my question, how long to the betas run for, etc. were there betas for hearth and home?
All depends on how much testing and bug stomping they need to do. H&H also had a major weapons rebalance and food changes that went live. That legwork should allow them to move forward quicker once on beta as they don't need to test and iterate two gameplay systems.

You do realize we are talking a whole biome here. New creatures/plants/resources/environment etc. This is probably going to be the biggest update since the start.Yeah I think typically they are a 3 month cycle in the beta test branch

that's not the question here, let's keep it on topic.
question is, what kind of telegraphing and lead time is there between an announcement and the actual release. best estimate so far is 90 days following a public test patch.

i agree, considering tar pits were an entirely new mechanic i wouldnt be surprised if mistlands had some as well. imagine how much work went into the fluid mechanics.

Don't the public test servers run for 3 months?
I wouldn't expect full release of the Mistlands until next year at this point. Holidays and all too.

I'm expecting a public test a month or so before the update goes live, so maybe in early November there's a chance to see something, if we're speculating wildly...
