Did Moder last night, didn't seem significantly different. Draugr fang with needle arrows. Got plenty of tears.

New or old map? With a new character and new map since the update, I have a large base with a stone wall around it and not one mob spawning inside the wall (about 13 4x2 stone blocks on a side).

Spawning inside your camp must be a bug. I found flowers with turnip seeds in a swamp but there aren't many.

I finally did it. I managed to lure moder down a hillside with less wolfs and drakes. Then I was just evading while moder fired its ice darts and then I shot it full of obsidian arrows while it was sitting still. No melee was necessary but it took a lot of arrows.

How many tears did you get when you killed Moder? We only got 1 tear.

Obsidian or Needle arrows works decent. Fire Arrows does little dmg, but you could use them. I attempted with regular and some fire arrows, bow broke and had to go repair it, only took near half HP, came back with Needle and obsidian arrows which did more dmg, but was still a slow process. I was using a fully upgraded Fine Bow. I never melee Moder, just run around for 20 or more minutes shooting arrows solo. Fight did seem like it took longer than pre-H&H.

I should perhaps try obsidian then. I have a fully upgraded Draugr fang which adds some poison damage so I can possibly skip the poison arrows. My problem is also since the fight is complex with cliffs, wolfs and drakes I often don't manage to do damage fast enough and moder just heals.
