Quick Drauger question
Hi: I'm just sticking my nose into the swamp biomes and there seems to be a perpetual supply of Draugers (At least in this one place). I kill them and die sometimes but they never end. Am I wasting my time fighting them and should just work around them ? Or is there a way to get rid of them ?
Should I just use them as a sausage resource ?
Thanks

Inside of Sunken Crypts, you'll have to do this either in melee range, or with a Bow if you're peeking around the corner of a Muddy Scrap Pile (what you mine for Iron).
Or use stagbreaker/iron sledge and aoe them from the next chamber over ;)
Lol, yeah, that too.. that's why I love the two-handed maces so much.
What I don't like in Crypts is when they break the lovely green lights though. :(

I personally like coming across body piles, the sausage-fest is what i call it.
i almost always run away to prevent accidentally killing the body pile and marking the location. Sausage is one of the staple foods of my viking purgatory, my wolves love it.

Ok, Thanks for the info. These ones seem to be coming from the waters edge.
There is a round stair well, somewhat close by with steps, but its filled with water. It doesn't look like they are coming from there though. I'll watch for the body piles.

just like any other spawner, you can shoot it to death if you can see it.
the swamp ones like piles, usually 2-3 skeletons and 1 draghr all together.
If you can't find it or are tired of it, just go away from that area and enter the swamp or play on the edge in another spot. The spawners are rare.

Mobs don't need a visible spawner to spawn, just certain conditions need to be met like mob density per loaded chunk, time of day, nearby structures like towers or visible spawners.
The Draugr spawners you can see which are called body piles for instance won't spawn more than 2 each and only usually have 2 mobs each when you are close enough to them.
So yea theres a never ending tide of mobs in every biome, they can spawn behind you as you advance too

Yes, they can spawn from the round stair wells. Usually the spawn piles for draugr and skeletons are found in an areas with rocks around it in the swamp, and inside the crypts. You can usually snipe those with arrows, but keep an eye on the aggro. (One of my favorite ways of dying in the swamp is to stand there for too long thinking that one more arrow should do it, while the draugrs and elites close in.)

This here. Endless Draugr sources are in fact a vital resource that you should protect and farm. It's a good idea to embed the actual spawner in stone blocks because the Draugr have an aggravating habit of smashing their own generators. I can smell those delicious Sausages from here.

The first draughr I encountered in my post-Hearth & Home play-through was a one star draughr in the Black Forest on the edge of a Swamp. I was still in the Black Forest; there was direct sunlight and I was not wet. I was also surprised, the draughr stepped from behind the fir tree I was standing by. I had bow and arrows equipped. And I died before I could say "Jack Robinson."
Geared up, ate up, wised up and killed that one star draughr to recover my corpse. In doing so, I had also to deal with a draughr elite who joined the fray.
That was many, many, in-game days ago. Since then I have destroyed all body piles within 150 meters of that spot. Scoured that same radius for stone towers in the Swamp, both square and round. Have not found one. Passed within a few meters of that spot dozens of times.
Still, except for near body piles, I encounter more draughr and draughr elite in that vicinity than anywhere else. And a lot of the time they come with one or two stars. I treat it as a spawn site.
I could be a living, breathing crazy man but I am still living and breathing.

Mobs seem attracted to noise . You are probably the one attracting all those mobs.

It happened once for me in a burrial chamber and skeletons (Evil bone pile), pre H&H. I don't know if timers are random or if they are set once for all for every Draug spawner location, but I'd keep this place for farming, indeed (until knowing more about other spawning sites).

Draugr spawn from Body Piles, much like Skeletons spawn from "Evil Bone Pile".
You can tell a Draugr spawner is nearby when you can hear large amounts of flies. In the open Swamp, Body Piles are your number one kill priority. If you can spot one far enough away, you can snipe it with arrows before it starts spawning Draugr. Inside of Sunken Crypts, you'll have to do this either in melee range, or with a Bow if you're peeking around the corner of a Muddy Scrap Pile (what you mine for Iron).
They're so dangerous because they're fully capable of spawning starred Draugr, both melee and Archers, but also Elite Draugr.. who can hit very, very hard if you find one that's starred.
Edit: as a reference, I'm using an upgraded Troll set (one upgrade from being maximum since I don't have a L5 Workbench yet), and a starred Draugr can hit me for anywhere between 14 and 85 or so damage. The higher end coming from a Draugr Elite.
If you find yourself running from a starred Draugr Archer in the open Swamp, do NOT run away from it in a straight line. Try to hide behind things as you run or they will get you.. and they hit in the 20s and 30s.
