I rent a server that my family and I play on.
Also, I play single player survival.
And lastly, I have several single player maps where I do creative builds and testing using console.
All of these options keep the game fresh for me.

I thoroughly enjoy this game solo.

It eats up a lot of time though.

There is so much to do. Hunting, farming, fishing, building, base defence, and crafting.

I've recently started again. Been living a nomad life so far this time. I'm not that far yet, but having a blast again.

since enjoyment is subjective largely in games its impossible to tell if you tc will enjoy it aswell. so give it a try and see.

Absolutely. Takes a little bit of brain power and can be a little bit grindy on your own but it's entirely playable solo. There's no NPCs until you get to Mistlands, but that's end game.

I'd say the only problem will be resource gathering, and that can be fixed with mods.

I don't find resource-gathering to be a big problem. I mix it up with fighting. If mining copper or anything bores you, try mining at night near a spawner. ;)

I play in 2 worlds. One with my real life friends and one solo. I enjoy both runs and both has pros and cons.

When I play solo, I die much less, because I never rush things and enjoy myself... Sometimes I just listen to some folk-rock or folk metal and sail around, doing absolutely nothing :D

At the other hand, when I build something pretty and enjoyable, I have no one to share it too in my solo game... So, both ways are fun.

P.S. If you want, we can arrange some joint game, but I must warn you that I am not be available very often and also I hate PvP, so if you're up to battling, then it's a no-no

Depending on the bosses they have killed your life can get tricky if a raid way above your level spawns. If your going to be playing largely solo I'd set up my own world and just talk to your pals over discord or something.

I play mostly solo and the game is definitely ok to play solo, boss fights just need a little more preparation compared to being in a group and your probably a little more cautious once you get into the mountains or plains.

solo was fun and the game was completely fresh, but when i found a community server it was hard to get back to it.
