10 millions copies sold and 50k playing, its 0.5%
That's a pretty respectable number. There aren't much games that have this kind of active playerbase and player retention. The 0.5% would be concurrent players. Active unique players per week or month would be significantly higher.
I agree highly. Thats active players, not counting the very moment some disconnect and others hop on and what not. 50k is super fantastic and im proud to be part of a game that has such.

Apart from the fact that it's a role playing game with 3rd person action combat?What does this game have to do with ARPGs? I believe that this type of game is the future of ARPG, being able to manipulate your surroundings in an open world is what myself and other gamer's have wanted for a long time.
Of course there is always room for improvement.

Seems odd to try to fit this in my brain as an RPG....it seems more like a co-op survival sandbox to me....

The game also didt only sell on steam, since otherwise there would be no point to crossplay.

And we dont have the data for the other platforms valheim was sold on, so its likely much higher then 50k.

It's a single player (with coop option) game not an MMO. There's no monthly subscription fee. 10 millions copies sold and 50k playing, its 0.5%
Most people played the game, beat it, and shelved it. 50k for a non-MMO single player game over a year after initial EA release is highly impressive.
