Transporting items from first world to new world?
I'm playing my second game of Valheim, with a new character, I want to go back to my first world and grab 1 turnip because I cannot find any in this new world.
I've read the directions for doing that online, but I cant figure it out.
Whenver I go to the first world or bring my first character to my new world, its always at spawn.
I thought either of the characters I used would spawn at the last place I was in?

Looks like spawn changed in last patch , now always spawn from a game crash or different seed in the sacrifice stones or your bed

A character loading in to a map for the first time will always start at spawn. So a new character will be at spawn on your old world, and your old character at spawn on the new world.
If you want to make it easier to transfer items, build portals between spawn points and your base.

Its always a good idea to have a portal at the initial spawn anyway because you need to go there periodically to hang up boss heads or change what buff you carry around.

Yea, at this point the best thing to do is probably to bring in materials for portals along with everything else (the turnips), make a portal at the sacrificial stones and then just head out to your base and complete the portal connection. I didn't have a portal at my origin in my first game but I painstakingly maintained my main base close to it anyway.

Weird,
When I jump between worlds I remain where I logged in/out, not the starting spawn point.
But yes, all new characters will start at the initial starting point, but once you move it should keep your position.
Is the game saving before you swap worlds?
Hit F5 and type save for quick save to keep location.
