I don't see why that would have to be the case at all. I'm not suggesting that just because the difficulty is about the same, their content also has to be the same.

sutur (sp?) is a major enemy, and of the firey areas. Giants were often tied to ice and could be a major force as well. Fire and ice are seen as competing equals... Its a tossup, and whatever the devs choose is likely to be OK lore wise....

Actually the devs deviated from Norse Mythology here. One of the runestones state that Surtr has been long dead and the Surtlings have spawned from his remains.

I don’t think either will be the end biome. I suspect Ashlands before the North, though only because there’s already some assets there. I suspect the final boss we will face, will be the boss of the Ocean biome!

They said in their AMA that there will be 9 bosses, one for each biome, and that all biomes are in the game already. We have the bosses for the Meadows, Forest, Swamp, Mountains, and Planes. That just leaves the Mistlands, the Ashlands, the Deep North, and the Ocean. Could be the leviathan we’ve been mining barnacles from may show it’s head, and be angry O.O

Could be the desert biome. Watched a video where they used god-mode to survive fall off edge of world and landed in clearly desert landscape.

I disagree. I suspect the final biome will be the underground ruins of the society that in ancient times defied Odin's will. One of the rune inscriptions lays it out quite clearly:

"Beneath the ground are the halls of men and women long since gone, ancient tribes who lived in Valheim even before the Allfather turned his eye upon this place. Delve deep to find their treasures but beware, some amongst them do not yet know they are dead."

Conquering the remains of this ancient civilisation, the most stubborn and powerful of Odin's enemies on Valheim, would be a fitting climax to the game.

They are planning to add more biomes, so it will not be either

I believe that the Deep North will be the final biome because Ashlands already has a little bit of content. Could be wrong though. I'm also thinking that either Fenris or Loki could be the final boss.

Would be neat if the portal required you to sail of the edge of the world and fall into it.

Fenris is the giant wolf, ya? That could be pretty epic. Getting "fire" weapons from Ashlands would also work for doing ideal damage to Deep North enemies, though the opposite could also be true.
