The frost caves, tar pits, and fuling villages add TONS of bone to the game, which comes to us WAY too late to use upgrading gear. We already have a windmill, so why not grind that bone to powder and use it in food?

This is already done in the making of gelatin, which is often used in baked goods in real life.

We also have an oven to bake those goods in.

Seems natural to use the bones the way they are used in life: As a food ingredient.
