Corpse Camped

I feel like it would be nice if mobs around your death point despawned, or there was a quick claim button on your grave so you didnt have to spend time getting attacked while trying to save your stuff.

Yeah as others have said make sure you have inventory space, then it's instant. Watch your weight, though... if you were wearing the belt, it does not automatically
re-equip so you might find yourself encumbered.

Another key thing is to eat BEFORE you make your run, because corpse buff or not that 25 health is not going to last long.

Oh, and throw down a portal nearby if you can.

I mentioned this before myself, but with regard to spawn camping. Yes, people have gotten killed at their home base in raids and when they spawn right there at the base they are immediately killed again. Either despawn the enemies or have them give you a ten second window of invincibility after you spawn.

If I die near a spawner site, or near a guarded-and-not-cleared-yet site, then I would give up the corpse run, and return only when I'm ready (rested, fed, equipped, buffed). Yes, this means temporary loosing good equipment. It once happened to me. I gave up after 3 consecutive deaths (doing dumb attempts, like a corpse run by night and naked), and I still have some troll armor waiting for me somewhere. On day, I will return, and I'll find another back-up armor... But I figure that this hits harder when you loose more costly equipment.

Or if it is frustrating you to the point you are no longer having fun, just use ghost mode in the dev commands.

Keep in mind, if you got the weight belt, you have to loot that first and equip it before getting your stuff, i died alot of time having weight over 300 so i couldn't pickup my stuff without first using the belt.

There is also the issue that you might need to equip the strength belt to be able to get all your stuff. The game won't automatically recover all your stuff if it will make you encumbered even if you have the inventory room for it all.

I've gotten killed several times trying to recover my gear because when I was originally killed I was trying to carry a load of iron out of a swamp. Without the belt equipped the game wouldn't let me to a grab and dash on my marker. and while I was trying to just grab the belt and armor I would get killed again.

I keep a second belt on hand now for those occasions .

given how long it might take to get back to your marker i don't think 10 seconds will be that useful. 10 minutes would be good, and if the player also had a ghost buff so nothing agros AND some kind of buff tht kept the player from being able to kill or interact with anything other than their death markers it would let you get your gear back without getting killed but also keep anyone from taking advantage of the invulnerability to kill a Boss or such

Perhaps when you touch your gravestone you knockback and stun all nearby enemies, which might give you enough time to equip one or two items to start running away.

they should make it so if youve been killed once by murderous animals and monsters that when you get back theyre all having tea and invite you to stay for a spot while you freely collect your things. great idea. we need far more easier mindless gaming made for players with no willpower.

There is a quick claim, just run up hit E and keep running. IRC it even gives you a small speed boost for a few seconds after pickup.

You need to make sure your inventory is empty when you first access the grave. It will automatically loot all the items.

Collecting your corpse/items gives you a buff called "Corpse Run" which (if I recall correctly) decreases stamina consumption, buffs your defense, increases health regeneration and increases run speed slightly. It's meant to help give you time to get away from direct contact with enemies and equip your gear. It's not a fool-proof solution, but it helps a lot. My advice is to drop everything so your inventory is completely empty and then run and grab your corpse. It will auto loot everything very quickly (assuming you weren't encumbered when you died) and allows you a quick escape. Dying near a crowd of tougher enemies makes this a tougher thing to do, naturally.

Would've loved to know this as I dropped both of my armor sets deep into the swamp next to a surtling spawner and an evil bone pile with two archers three surtling and an elite drauger all camping it.

There is a quick claim, but if you equipped gear or filled your inventory before accessing your corpse it will not work. It is recommended once you are close to your corpse to prep by dropping and unequiping everything.

Sneak and make a run for the corpse and when you access it everything will autoloot onto you and you'll be given a crazy speed boost.

Note: I haven't had to do this since H&H update. With the speed boost your stam use to regen like crazy it felt. Might not be the same now with the stam change.
