pukeberries were a silly addition
I love everything from H&H, except these stupid berries. I don't, and never will use them. Why would I???
Deciding what to eat and how you intend to spend your next ~10 minutes of gameplay is really fun!!! If you use the berries, you remove an entire aspect of strategy and roleplay from the game. And for what? I can only imagine enough people who are bad at the food management complained aggressively.

If you watch the preview video, the berries were implemented before the update was released, so how could a player have influenced the decision to put them in the game?
Also, that's great that you don't wan to use them, but there's no need to insult others because the have different preferences than you. I've never used them, but I could imagine times when it might be useful.

They're not pukeberries, they're bukeperries.
Just ignore them if you don't like them? I like to toss them in the ocean or a river, to feed necks.
I doubt I'll ever use them, except maybe for the over-the-top visual effect (it's gross but hilarious), but the things have been a HUGE source of entertainment for my friends and me in multiplayer (no consuming them is involved).
Bukeperries were a great addition, imo.

When to use them: when you've eaten a neck tail, boar meat, and raspberries while moving your furniture around, but now Smell From the Swamp is triggering. Or you want to explore a higher tier biome than your current location and need to eat better food. Maybe you need to change from three stamina foods because you were chopping wood and want to explore now. Instead of waiting till you can eat again, you can puke and then eat what you need.
Does it happen often? No, I've probably used them twice. But having a handful taking up one space in a chest costs nearly nothing, and gives you the flexibility to change your food if you need to. Bukeperries don't remove an aspect of strategy, they add another layer of strategy to food management.

No one is going to exploit these things. Few people probably use them at all; all its good for is emergencies (eg, mid tier gear player just ate 3 stam foods to fish and 3 trolls show up in a raid..). Generally the cost of losing 3 foods to do-over is too high to justify using them outside of extreme circumstances.

You mean Bukeperries? if i start my day off with a stamina buff and suddenly i get a troll attack (ground is shaking) having a more well rounded set up might be good. so there is a rare use case for them. which is why they are there as food is more weighted.

Excuse my ingenuity, I'm not a native locutor. Can you (or someone) explain the play of words? I like drinking perry (pear cider) when I can (or lighty fermented apple/pear/grape juice), and the closest word I get for "buke" is related to puking after ingesting some replacement opioid. They're not pukeberries, they're bukeperries.
This feature could have been rendered by another mean, nonetheless, like drinking some herbal tea or chewing some bitter berries, and no puking involved (neither visual nor evocation). Currently, it's a bit like the belching (and puking) contest in Guild Wars 2: just out of place, for my taste (but in GW2's case, I suspect it's because of laws prohibiting promotion of alcohol use in wide-audience video games). But having a handful taking up one space in a chest costs nearly nothing, and gives you the flexibility to change your food if you need to. Can you believe someone actually started a topic about how much it ruined their experience that a way to force yourself to puke was added to the game? Not because of it's plausibility but because they liked how it was impossible to puke before. It's almost as if they don't know people used to do this in real life. They're likely based on pokeberries.
