I HATE TROLLSSSSSSS
I am pretty now to Valheim, and every single time I go to get copper, I get attacked. I don't really know how to get by, or even kill trolls in general. Can anyone help me?

I use a bronze shield and spear, and go full melee on them. Even without parrying them (which then only takes about 7 hits to kill them) it doesn't take much to bring them down anymore. don't try melee until you have Darkmetal weapons and shield(). Use a bow and lots of arrows and ofcourse keep your distance. Oh and do not mine at night it will be even harder.

They're actually fairly easy to melee, with a max bronze shield or better, once you figure out parrying (and dodge roll.) Bows are certainly safer, but take longer to kill them.basically use bow, bows are pretty much the only real viable weapon in this game for big dudes its really annoying I am pretty now to Valheim, and every single time I go to get copper, I get attacked. Bronze shields have the highest parry bonus of any shield, which makes them equal to iron but can be gotten earlier. Make one, practice parry with a grey dwarf brute (imo the best parry trainers) and then decide if melee or bow works best for you.

I pretty much melee everything and it's rarely ever a problem. You can drop big guys easily by parrying and smacking them with the right damage type. And even if you bork it up, they're usually slow enough for you to just roll or jog away and still regen stamina. basically use bow, bows are pretty much the only real viable weapon in this game for big dudes its really annoying
Fulings on the other hand. Those little turds are buggers to get parries off with their swarming.

Just dig down. Copper deposits go super deep anyway. And then you can just shoot him down again and again as soon as he appears. Because he can not get into the hole, same for greydwarfes. I have always dug deeper first to make a camp where I can repair my pickaxe and then mined all around.
And for normal, what the others say. A bow and you're good to go.

Deep water channels can be useful too, they try to cross in a straight line and get stuck in the middle.

Fire arrows are good, but practice timing your dodge roll now. Super useful later on. You take no damage while rolling!

If you go the shield route, get used to parrying - When you parry an attack it blocks a lot more of the damage and stuns the trolls, allowing you to do much more damage not only because they are stunned but it you do more damage with your weapon when they're in that state. The downside is you need to get used to blocking right at the last moment and if your timing is off you'll eat their attack.
You can also dodge-roll away from their attacks as well - as soon as they start swinging use roll to get away. Hold block, then jump in a direction and you'll roll away.
But bows are always good against trolls.

spear, or bow since they are weak to pierce weapons
or shield + any one hand weapon since they are really easy to parry

You can actually keep your distance from them indefinitely - just jog away from them while they're following you, and when their attack animation begins, sprint away for a couple of seconds. The easiest way to actually kill them in the beginning is probably to just kite and shoot, which might take a while but it will get the job done. I wouldn't bother meleeing them without a bronze buckler and a decent grasp of the parrying mechanic. They aren't supposed to be very common so perhaps you've just been unlucky so far.
Other than that, once you have enough copper and tin, make yourself a bronze axe as a first priority, then chop down some birches and oaks to get fine wood. You can use that to make the second tier bow, which is worlds better than the first tier one and will let you deal with trolls much more easily.

Best bow you can make, leveled as high as you can get it, wood arrows, trolls are easy.
I killed one a few days in on my seconds play through, wasn't trying to, he forced my hand. Used a crude bow and wooden arrows.

Trolls are big and clumsy. Put a tree, a rock or any change in terrain height between you and them. Then use an arrow.. readjust as required,

For ranged, run away while shooting him. He is weak to pierce damage, so that should help.
For melee, use the spear, and preferably a shield. If you have a bronze buckler, use that, otherwise probably best to DODGE his attacks instead of trying to block or parry them. The dodge roll does have some i-frames to it, so just because a troll's attack should hit doesn't mean it will if you time it right.
The rest is just being persistent. They will go down, you just have to get used to dodging and moving defensively.
