Anyone else have low FPS since the update?
The update looks fantastic, but for some reason ever since it came out my FPS has dropped to an unplayable level. I tried starting a new game and it's not as bad there, but even there sometimes it dips and just controlling my character is like trying to walk while really really drunk.
Is this just because there are so many more people playing for the new material now and the servers are overloaded, or does it have something to do with the update itself? Anyone else having this problem? I have gone through so many "How to boost your FPS" videos and articles and nothing helps.

Quite the opposite. Games runs a lot better (out of the box) than it did.
Try dropping all settings to the lowest and work your way up. See where you hit that ceiling.
From my own experience I can tell the shadows trip up the framerate bad. (GTX1080). Game runs @60FPS with dips here and there, but not as crazy as it used to be.

From my own experience I can tell the shadows trip up the framerate bad.I second that (GTX970)

yes, i've taken a hammering in my base now, didn't use to be this bad, was happily building pre-patch, took a break a week before H&H, came back to finish kitchen and the same area is now tanking frames.

No, no issues for me
This makes no sense, there's absolutely no causality between the number of people playing a game separately and the performance of the game on your own pc.
Is this just because there are so many more people playing for the new material now and the servers are overloaded

OK, thank you. I don't understand how this all works so that's good to know.
That could be the case on multiplayers games obv, if the server is overcrowded it can slow down, can even happen in valheim if you play on a really really small potatoe with 9 other players :p, but usually you don't have fps drops in those cases, you see lags, like mobs teleporting, or weapons hit that don't land.
