Mobs attack other mobs from different biomes. They will leave their biome to pursue an attack. It can be a useful way to get drops that are to high for your tier but use caution as you might become the bait.

This is pretty far from any other biomes, and they are everywhere. End to end of the meadows and found skeletons killing everything. :/

They don't spawn in the meadows so there must be a sliver of BF somewhere. A dungeon or tower is where they usually spawn but they can spawn in the open. I built a base on a new island in the meadows. Came back on a boat at a different angle to find a troll on the shore. Around a 20m wide area was BF.

If it were in one little area, maybe. But this is an area that takes 8min to run end to end, and I've found them in the entire length.

Skellies are relatively fast and if they target a deer they will run. They DO NOT spawn in the meadows. You may have a bug but I doubt it. Look for the tree changes and you should find the spot they are spawning from. Drop a workbench there.

There's also a small grave-like object (a long horizontal stone with several standing ones leaning over it) that seems to spawn them. Oddly enough, it tends to have a single piece of stone ruin wall buried beneath it which might be used as a spawner.

@OP: Agreed, they probably wandered in. The spawn progression on meadows is (Start) Greylings-> (Eikhtyr) Grey Dwarves -> (Elder) Grey Dwarf Brutes/Shamans.

I'm pretty sure he/the others didn't run that far. :/ Pretty long ways from any black forests. Probably a bug.

South west of your bridges is where I suspect they are coming from. That looks like BF to me.

I can confirm what OP is saying, I saw 3 skellies in the middle of my meadows biome as well near the water. And no there's no black forest in the vicinity. I've survived for 106 days so far and this is the first time I suddenly saw them so close to my base.

There was no attack, they did not follow me because I rarely even go to the black forest anymore and when I do it's through a portal to a whole other island.

they wont respawn if killed once around tower or crypt,so it would be one time problem.

I don't know what else to offer other then go there and check. Like I say I had a 20M sliver of BF with no large trees so I didn't know until I saw the troll.

Only the event can spawn mobs out of biome. This may well be a bug then.
