Would really like some deconstruction mechanism...
So I just made a Draugr Fang on my latest seed and upgraded it to lvl 2. Then I made another Draugr Fang. Why the heck make another one? Because I replenished my mats from a chest, and when I clicked on the Forge, didn't go back into "Upgrade" mode.
Now, I get why you can't just deconstruct stuff and get all your mats back- it'd totally negate the restriction on teleporting ores and metals. No problem. But hey, would it be too hard to implement a deconstruct at the same workstation, within say a 3-minute time limit? I don't do code, so maybe it would be too hard, I don't know. But hell, I hate to see those resources get wasted like that. Anyone else made that mistake? And it's not the first time I've done it, either :(

I second this. The UI for crafting vs upgrading is horrendous. Several times I spent hours mining crypts, transporting the ore ages across the ocean, chopping trees to make coal for the smelting to iron, only to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ craft three steel pickaxes instead of upgrading my current one.
I think its to easy to accidentally switch back to crafting from the upgrade UI. Of course nothing several hours of re-grinding crypts can't fix.
On the upside the hard lessons make one more careful but still, I don't mind learning hard lessons in game not so much from ♥♥♥♥♥♥ UI design.
Looking at things from a positive; I am keen for the new content to be released on the master branch. Getting a bit bored now that my base is pimped and guarded by wolves and the loxe are breeding at my door steps. :)

Like everything else, there is a mod for this. If you want to use it with self-imposed rules, knock yourself out.
